What a technically bad website design looks like

In this post, we’ll talk about bad website design. Did you know that bad design can be very nice and cute, but still bad? How is this possible? Let’s figure it out.

Undoubtedly, there are sites, visiting which, immediately want to go out. Because everything there, starting with the color scheme, looks terrible. But we are not talking about that today.

A little background

Quite often, I receive letters from freelancers who want to work in my team. Most of the applicants are newbies who do not yet have their own client base.

Line spacing

Looking at this text, it immediately becomes clear that the author does not know the basics of typography.

An experienced designer can show leading by eye. But for beginners, I will say that the most optimal line spacing value is 1.5 times the size of the font itself. Here the lines are stuck together. And for a visitor, such a text will be extremely difficult to read.
Total

Erroneous texts
Lack of attention to detail
Ignorance of typography
I dare to assume that the author, due to inexperience, has flaws in psd layouts (I mean the structure and signatures of layers, states of interactive elements, etc.)

The author wrote in the letter “… with good quality work …” Unfortunately, this is not the case and he needs some more time to study web design. At the moment, the work is very crude precisely in the technical part.

Most beginners think that if they have taste and work pleasing to the eye, then they can create website designs. Unfortunately, these are just pictures and are still very far from web design. There are a lot of nuances in the development of a layout that a designer must know.
Bad website design. Effects.

What is the risk for customers:

The development time for the site will increase due to the large number of edits that arise, which means this is unnecessary correspondence and approvals.
A self-respecting layout designer will not undertake to typeset such a layout, or at least double / triple the amount for the work.
An inexperienced or principled layout designer makes layouts exactly as "drawn" by the designer.
A site that is crooked and contains grammatical errors will undermine the trust of visitors to the service / company.
