Ideas and Solutions for Internet Marketing Problems
My Experience and Qualifications

I'm John Scherrer, President of Internet Marketing Resources, Inc., (formerly Custom Internet Applications).

This is a brief outline of my career and qualifications to be your Internet marketing partner.

After five years in retail sales, my sales and marketing career began in earnest in 1982 with my first job in outside sales. I represented radio stations in Erie, Pennsylvania for four years. Within my first year, I was promoted into sales management. I was responsible for continuing my own sales and training others, as well as participating in management and marketing decisions.

This was followed by three years in the print media where I was hired as the sales manager for a group of weekly newspapers. I took on the challenge of learning a new media. Responsibilities included training the sales staff, and developing products to help the newspapers reach their fiscal goals.

Seeking better opportunities, I joined Ameritech, the mid-west "Baby-Bell". They had purchased the Industrial Yellow Pages from Harris and were rolling out regional publications across the United States. I sold successfully for five years, until a corporate decision was suddenly made to discontinue the books outside their Bell operating area. After this, I sold for what was our chief competitor, the Thomas Regional Directories, for 18 months.

To this point, I had acquired valuable experience in broadcast, newspaper, and directory/yellow pages media serving both the consumer/retail and industrial/manufacturing markets.

My first exposure to the Internet was in April of 1995 when I began full-time sales and marketing for "YellowNet World Wide Pages" out of Denver, Colorado. They were the first to attempt a national yellow pages on-line with an advertising model similar to the traditional yellow pages. Unfortunately, (or fortunately), after six months they failed.

It was no secret this company was struggling, so I began representing a company that developed web sites. High cost and project lead times were not conducive to sales success. Not being satisfied any longer with depending on others to deliver products and services that would satisfy customers, and recognizing the emerging demand for web sites, I purchased books, software, and equipment and taught myself how to create web sites.

Ten years and over 400 web projects later, with more happy customers than I thought possible, my enterprise remains as busy as one person can handle! I choose to remain a one-person operation and accept the responsibility of meeting the demands of my customers. When occasion requires advanced programming or custom art creation, I use reliable sub-contractors.

On March 1, 2005 I was recognized by Google as a certified Adwords Qualified Professional, meeting their high standards to help businesses by creating and optimizing their Google advertising accounts.

In October 2006 I incorporated and changed the name of my business to more accurately reflect my services: Internet Marketing Resources, Inc..

Numerous web sites I created over the years have been incredibly successful. Observing how these successes happened, with continual research and professional self-improvement, I have systematized the key ingredients for success and apply these common denominators to each of my projects.

I enjoy the challenges of helping each new customer achieve their goals.
